Japanese-Style Ergonomic Steel Secateurs
Made for comfortable pruning — and designed to be sharpened at home.
A good pair of secateurs should feel comfortable in your hand, open wide enough for the jobs you actually need to tackle and, importantly, be something you can maintain yourself.
Our Japanese-style ergonomic secateurs tick all three boxes.
Featuring a sharpenable steel blade, wide-opening cutting action and comfortable ergonomic handles, they're a practical everyday tool for pruning around the home, veggie garden, orchard or permaculture garden.
WHY WE CHOSE STEEL RATHER THAN STAINLESS STEEL
These secateurs are deliberately not stainless steel.
While stainless steel offers excellent corrosion resistance, it can be harder to sharpen at home. The steel used in these secateurs allows the cutting edge to be resharpened more easily with the appropriate sharpening tool, helping you maintain a clean, sharp cutting edge yourself.
Simply clean and dry your secateurs after use and care for the blade appropriately to help protect the steel from rust and keep them performing beautifully.
A WIDE OPENING FOR BIGGER JOBS
The blades open to approximately 5 cm at their widest point, giving you plenty of working room when tackling larger garden prunings.
The spring-loaded action opens the blades again after each cut, while the ergonomic handles sit comfortably in the hand for repetitive pruning jobs.
A SMARTER SLIDING LOCK
One of our favourite details is the slider-style closing mechanism.
Rather than a traditional swinging latch that can move around and accidentally catch while you're pruning, the slider provides a simple way to secure the secateurs closed when you've finished using them.

CARE
Because these blades are not stainless steel, a little care will keep them at their best.
After use, remove plant residue and sap, wipe the blades clean and dry thoroughly before storing. An occasional light application of suitable tool oil will help protect the steel, and the cutting edge can be resharpened as required.
With proper care, you'll have a pair of secateurs you can sharpen, maintain and continue using season after season.
A practical garden tool chosen with real gardeners in mind. 🌿
