We’ve been making this Insect Repellent using ingredients from nature for over 10 years, perfecting our recipe. Having confidence in our products is paramount to us and is reflected in positive feedback from our customers.
We’ve found the best way to use is to apply the repellent directly to your heat points—behind your ears, wrists, the backs of your knees, and your ankles. Depending on how active you are, you may like to reapply after several hours. The reason for this is that essential oils evaporate and emit their fragrance from the body’s heat points, which is what gives you the protection.
We make it in small batches using essential oils of certified organic Citronella, Tea Tree, Lavender—from nearby Mount Darragh—and Saarinen Organics all-natural cream base, made from scratch. We have also added a fresh herbal infusion of Chamomile, Calendula, and Nettle. Click on “additional information” to the left for the full ingredients list.
A Note from Kay: When I first put this into production I gave it to a family of four to trial on their trek into the very buggy wilderness of the Northern Territory. They used it during their 3-day hike and were very happy they could use this sweet-smelling cream instead of commercial spray. They were soon lending it around the campfire for others to try.
